This week in preschool we learned about Rectangles! We first found all of the rectangles in the house and pointed out their different sizes, and then we created rectangles out of yarn on our felt boards.
We played a little more with the felt boards and made houses out of the felt shapes. (I added these felt boards to the preschool box if anyone wants to use them!).
We had a lesson on "Caring for our Bodies". Each of them put together puzzles and we discussed what their puzzle pictures were about and why each one was important. We read, "All About Me", "Wash, Scrub, Brush", "Eyes, Nose, Fingers, and Toes", and "The Belly Book".
We sang the "Shoo Fly Don't Bother Me" song as the fly landed on different parts of our body.

Reading and puzzle time:
The kids got pretty silly during lunch time. June requested that they all make funny faces for the camera.
We learned about the number 4 and worked on some worksheets.
Building with blocks.
We learned about the letter D! The kids traced the letter D with q-tips and paint. We pulled "D" objects out of a bag and sounded out each item. To get the wiggles out, we played with the Dance Dice! (or Die) The kids loved this. I played music while the kids took turns rolling the Dice, and they had to follow the dance move on the Dice. One of their favorites was, "Dance with a Friend". I noticed that Caitlin and Tristan immediately ran to each other when this was rolled, and Tristan decided he wanted to slow dance, with his arms around her. It was then Tristan's turn to roll and he made sure it landed on "Dance with a Friend" again, (meaning he ran over and switched it), so that Caitlin and Tristan could finish their dance together. He later told me that he was being a Prince. Oh My! (I also added the Dance Dice to the preschool box).
We read "The Funny Little Woman", and the kids raised their hands every time they heard the word Dumpling, which was a lot.
Quick rides on the swing before pick up time.
We squeezed in a little exercise while we waited for our moms.
Thank you, Shandra! Looks like the kids had a blast. And thanks for adding the great activities to the box!!
