October 2nd & 4th

Theme for the month: occupations
Shape: star, number: 6, letter: F

Tuesday: Occupations & The number 6

We started off the morning with some puzzles. Here Jacob is working on a fixture puzzle.

Talia & Tristan working on the alphabet

We read a Richard Scarry story on occupations, and decided it was the perfect day to be a Chef and make banana muffins!! We gathered around the table and all enjoyed measuring out the ingredients and of course mixing the batter.

First the dry ingredients...

Then we added the wet ingredients...

While our muffins were baking they did an occupations puzzle where they happily chose what they wanted to be...

Jacob: Fireman, Chef, Deep Sea Diver & Fisherman

Tristan: Astronaut, Super Hero, Pirate & Karate Man

Talia: Wizard, Baseball Player, Doctor & Fairy

Heidi: Police Officer, Cowgirl, Princess & Ballerina

During free play time they started playing a Thomas the Train game, I was pretty impressed!

Muffins + Jacob, Talia, Heidi & Tristan = Happy!!

Thursday: Letter F & Star

We started the morning with a letter 'F' worksheet...

Heidi was very helpful and colored my green frog's arms and legs with her orange crayon!

After talking about fish, we ventured out to feed the fish by the Ala Wai canal...ambitious...I know. I was pretty impressed with their buddy system.

Heidi, Talia, Jacob & Tristan

On the way back they were sidetracked with this yellow fire hydrant...

Elevator humor...

We worked on our number 6's by adding some stars and listened to some nursery rhymes.

Peering through our 'looking glass' table.

Ring around the Rosie at the elevator

Hugs...

And pure joy! a good time was had by all!
