January 8th and January 10th

We were all excited to be back from our Christmas break!  And we sure miss our friend Talia and look forward to her return soon.

This week we learned about the letter P.  We practiced writing capital P's and I was so impressed with how well they did!  They colored the letter P and glued P objects to their paper.

Since we canceled the last two classes in December, I decided to carry over the color red to make sure it was covered.  We made Red Play Dough!  Each of them took turns adding and mixing the ingredients.  We also read, The Berenstain Bears and the Big Red Kite , a favorite in our home.

We had music time and started a band!  I put on some songs and tried to show them how to play with the beat of the music.  Ummm...let's just say that our band may need some practice.  :) We rotated instruments and we paraded around the house and took turns being the leader.  They sure were cute.

We had a lesson on Family and briefly discussed who their grandparents were, how their parents met and created their own family.  (June and Heidi appear to look really bored in this picture below.  ha ha!).

We covered the numbers 5 and 6 this week.  We read Five Little Ducks and Five Little Monkeys...
The kids made pizzas and glued 6 of each of the toppings to their pizzas.

Discovering the color white.  We played a memory game with white objects.

Hands-free inflation science project, just for fun.  When baking soda and vinegar come into contact, they form carbon dioxide and fills the balloon.  The kids were excited!

We went outside for a little bit to watch the white clouds float by and try to make shapes out of them.
