This week at preschool was an exciting one for me. Halloween
activities are always a blast to teach and the excitement of the kids to
get dressed up is contagious.
Curriculum taught this week was orange, J, and zero. On Tuesday we focused on orange and since Halloween was the next day we did some math activities using pumpkins. Our pumpkin glyphs tell information about Halloween. We then made a tally chart to help us figure out how many people liked Halloween and how many people were going trick or treating using the information provided on the glyphs.
We enjoyed telling some spooky stories and then wrote our own circle story on the wall. Each child had a chance to tell their own story to take home. For lunch we had mummy turkey dogs, oranges and carrots for our orange theme.
On Thursday, we enjoyed a J day. We painted magic J's, made our own PB&J, read Jumanji and looked for J words in the story, We also ate jiggly orange jello for lunch. I enjoyed watching the kids help each other complete their painting projects as well as there giggles while eating jiggly jello. What a cute bunch of kiddos.

Thanks Nikki! That Halloween story that Tristan brought home was awesome! We should do more creative writing with the kids. It's so fun to hear what they have to say.
