I am so sorry this post is late. Life has been crazier than normal! On Tuesday, we missed Jacob who was with his grandparents and Talia who was sick with a cold. We started the morning in our circle talking about our Halloween costumes. Heidi said she planned to be a butterfly, June said she was going to be Alice in Wonderland, Caitlin said she was going to be a bumblebee and Tristan told us of his plans to be a vampire wearing a Spiderman costume. Each child described their costume to their friends in as much detail as they could. For our art project we made a glittery ice cream cone. During free-play time we had doctor Caitlin and doctor Tristan at work, while Heidi and June pushed their babies in strollers and took them to the doctor when necessary. Later in the morning we created a store and the children took turns shopping for groceries at the store and manning the cash register. We also glued mini dollar bills on a paper and talked about who we would buy ice cream for at the pretend ice cream store.
Jacob and Talia were back on Thursday. Hooray! We started by talking about our costumes again. We heard that Talia would be a princess and Jacob a firefighter. Tristan also decided his face would be white for his vampire costume and he would add some red boots. We then created the capital and lowercase letter "i" on the ground using children and some pumpkins. Then it was time to decorate mini pumpkins, our main craft for the day! The googly eyes were a popular decoration. In fact, Jacob's pumpkin was "all eyes". Talk about 360 vision!

What a fun week! Thank you for informing me about what Tristan wanted to be for Halloween. :) That was a new one but we pulled it off! And I'm confused about the cockroach food. So funny!
